Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric neurological disorders, including epilepsy, developmental delay, neuromuscular disease, headaches, movement disorders, and neurogenetic conditions
* Conduct detailed neurological assessments for infants, children, and adolescents using clinical history, physical examination, and diagnostic findings
* Interpret EEG, MRI, CT, and other neurophysiological investigations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions
* Develop individualized treatment plans and long-term care strategies for children with acute, chronic, and complex neurological conditions
* Manage both inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology cases in line with hospital protocols and international clinical standards
* Coordinate care with pediatricians, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary teams
* Provide clear counseling to parents and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication plans, prognosis, and follow-up care
* Support epilepsy management, pediatric neurophysiology services, and multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience programs
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with DHA regulations, hospital policies, and clinical governance standards
* Participate in clinical audits, research activities, academic discussions, conferences, and continuing medical education programs
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and keep updated with new developments in pediatric neurology and child neuroscience
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a Western-trained Consultant Pediatric Neurologist with strong tertiary-care experience and confident expertise in pediatric neurological diagnosis, neurodiagnostic interpretation, and long-term management of childhood neurological disorders. The role requires clinical precision, excellent communication, and the ability to support families through complex medical decisions.
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from an accredited institution
* Board Certification or Fellowship in Pediatric Neurology
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant Pediatric Neurology
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist in a reputed tertiary-care or academic hospital
* Strong experience in epilepsy, pediatric neurophysiology, developmental neurology, neuromuscular disorders, and neurogenetic conditions
* Ability to interpret EEG, MRI, CT, and related neurodiagnostic studies
* Experience working within multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience or specialist children’s health programs
* Research publications, academic involvement, or conference participation will be an advantage
* Excellent analytical, communication, counseling, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment
