Role Context
The Consultant Pediatric Oncologist with Bone Marrow Transplant specialization plays a critical role in treating children with cancer and serious blood disorders requiring advanced oncology care and transplant procedures. This position strengthens hospital excellence by improving survival outcomes, leading BMT protocols, supporting research, and guiding families through highly specialized treatment journeys.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat pediatric oncology and hematology conditions including leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, aplastic anemia, and other complex blood disorders
* Perform and oversee autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant procedures with strict clinical safety standards
* Lead multidisciplinary case reviews and develop individualized treatment plans for pediatric cancer and transplant patients
* Manage chemotherapy protocols, transplant preparation, post-transplant monitoring, and long-term survivorship care
* Supervise junior physicians, fellows, and nursing teams in pediatric oncology and BMT clinical pathways
* Ensure compliance with international treatment standards, infection control, and hospital governance protocols
* Participate in clinical trials, academic research, and continuous medical education activities
* Provide counseling and education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, transplant procedures, and recovery expectations
* Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure timely reporting of treatment progress and outcomes
* Participate in on-call rotations and emergency specialist coverage for pediatric oncology services
Ideal Profile
* Medical Degree such as MD or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is essential
* Fellowship training in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant is mandatory
* Minimum five years of post-fellowship experience in pediatric oncology and BMT practice
* Eligibility for DHA specialist licensing within UAE healthcare authority standards
* Western-trained specialists from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, or equivalent are strongly preferred
* Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary team management abilities
