Role Context
The Consultant Pediatric Otolaryngologist plays a vital role in diagnosing and treating childhood ENT disorders that affect hearing, breathing, speech development, and overall wellbeing. This position supports early specialist intervention, surgical excellence, and coordinated multidisciplinary care to improve long-term pediatric health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate infants, children, and adolescents presenting with ear, nose, throat, and airway disorders
* Diagnose and manage conditions including recurrent ear infections, tonsillitis, hearing impairment, sinus disease, adenoid issues, and speech-related ENT concerns
* Create personalized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic investigations, and developmental needs
* Perform pediatric ENT surgeries including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, ear tube insertion, airway procedures, and other specialist interventions
* Provide expert consultations for complex pediatric ENT referrals and multidisciplinary case reviews
* Monitor recovery progress and revise treatment strategies to achieve optimal patient outcomes
* Counsel parents and families regarding diagnosis, surgery options, hearing care, and preventive health strategies
* Maintain accurate medical documentation and comply with hospital clinical governance standards
* Work closely with pediatricians, audiologists, speech therapists, and pediatric surgeons for integrated care
* Participate in ongoing specialist education, audits, and departmental quality improvement initiatives
Ideal Profile
* Licensed physician with specialist qualification in Pediatrics and Otolaryngology
* Consultant-level certification in Pediatric ENT is mandatory
* Western-trained education or advanced specialist experience is required
* Minimum 5 years of Consultant Pediatric ENT experience in a recognized hospital or specialist center
* Strong expertise in pediatric ENT surgery and hearing-related disorder management
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality, compassionate pediatric care
* Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Strong diagnostic judgment and commitment to evidence-based treatment
