The position requires advanced surgical judgment, compassionate family communication, and strong collaboration with craniofacial surgeons, neurosurgeons, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, dermatologists, rehabilitation teams, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals. The selected consultant will support high-quality pediatric reconstructive outcomes through individualized treatment planning, precise surgery, postoperative care, teaching, research, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage congenital, traumatic, acquired, functional, and aesthetic pediatric plastic surgery conditions
* Perform pediatric plastic and reconstructive procedures including cleft lip and palate repair, craniofacial reconstruction, hand surgery, burn reconstruction, scar revision, and soft tissue reconstruction
* Evaluate pediatric trauma cases and complex reconstructive surgical needs requiring detailed functional and aesthetic planning
* Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for infants, children, and adolescents requiring plastic and reconstructive surgery care
* Develop individualized surgical plans, postoperative rehabilitation pathways, wound care strategies, and long-term follow-up schedules
* Collaborate with craniofacial surgeons, neurosurgeons, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, dermatologists, anesthesiologists, rehabilitation teams, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
* Counsel patients and families on diagnosis, surgical options, expected outcomes, procedural risks, recovery stages, scar management, and postoperative care
* Support multidisciplinary cleft, craniofacial, hand, burn, and complex reconstructive care programs where required
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with DHA requirements, hospital policies, and clinical governance standards
* Participate in clinical audits, research activities, teaching programs, case reviews, and continuing medical education
* Ensure adherence to patient safety, infection control, surgical quality, and continuous improvement standards
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a Consultant Pediatric Plastic Surgeon with strong post-board experience in pediatric reconstructive and cosmetic surgery within a tertiary-care or academic hospital setting. This role requires excellent operative skill, family-centered communication, and the ability to manage complex pediatric cases in a multicultural clinical environment.
* MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
* Board Certification or Fellowship in Plastic Surgery
* Subspecialty experience or focused practice in Pediatric Plastic Surgery
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant Plastic Surgery
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery
* Strong expertise in cleft repair, craniofacial reconstruction, pediatric hand surgery, burn reconstruction, scar revision, and soft tissue reconstruction
* Experience in cleft and craniofacial multidisciplinary programs will be an advantage
* Exposure to pediatric microsurgery and complex reconstructive procedures is preferred
* Academic, research, audit, or teaching experience will add value
* Excellent surgical, communication, documentation, counseling, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment with children and families
