Role Context
The Consultant - Pediatrics will serve as a primary specialist for infants, children, and adolescents requiring preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, vaccination, developmental monitoring, and family guidance. The role combines routine pediatric consultations, illness management, emergency response, care coordination, and parent education. Arabic fluency is essential to support trust, comfort, and clear communication with families in Dubai’s multicultural healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct routine pediatric check-ups to assess growth, development, general health, immunization status, and age-appropriate milestones.
* Evaluate pediatric patients to diagnose injuries, acute illnesses, chronic conditions, developmental concerns, and behavioral or growth-related issues.
* Prescribe and interpret diagnostic tests to investigate underlying medical concerns and guide accurate clinical decision-making.
* Provide treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and preventive care to protect children from illness and support long-term health.
* Manage newborn, infant, child, and adolescent health concerns with a compassionate and family-centered approach.
* Respond confidently to pediatric emergencies and arrange timely escalation or specialist referral when required.
* Direct and coordinate pediatric care plans with nurses, specialists, allied healthcare professionals, and support teams.
* Communicate clearly with children and parents in Arabic and English regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication use, potential risks, preventive care, and follow-up needs.
* Educate families on nutrition, immunization, hygiene, developmental milestones, sleep routines, safety, and proactive child health management.
* Maintain accurate medical records, consultation notes, vaccination records, diagnostic reviews, prescriptions, and follow-up documentation.
* Ensure clinical care follows DHA requirements, hospital policies, patient safety standards, confidentiality rules, and evidence-based pediatric practice.
* Support a warm, professional, and child-friendly care environment focused on comfort, trust, and high-quality patient experience.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Pediatrics.
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant Pediatrician registration in Dubai.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialty experience in pediatrics.
* Strong knowledge of newborn care, infant care, child health, adolescent medicine, immunization, developmental assessment, and pediatric illness management.
* Ability to handle pediatric emergency situations with sound clinical judgment and timely decision-making.
* Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, with strong English communication skills preferred.
* Excellent communication skills with empathy toward children, parents, and families.
* Strong ability to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and specialist services when needed.
