Role Context
The Consultant - PET CT Radiology will provide expert reporting and clinical interpretation of complex PET CT and hybrid imaging studies for oncology, neurology, cardiology, and other specialist cases. The position requires strong diagnostic judgment, familiarity with nuclear medicine imaging principles, understanding of tracer behavior, and the ability to work closely with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, nuclear medicine teams, and multidisciplinary tumor boards to guide patient care decisions in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret PET CT and hybrid imaging studies, including SPECT CT, diagnostic CT, oncologic imaging, neurological imaging, and selected cardiology-related cases.
* Provide accurate diagnostic reports that support cancer detection, staging, restaging, treatment response assessment, recurrence evaluation, and clinical decision-making.
* Collaborate with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, nuclear medicine physicians, radiographers, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Support individualized patient management by contributing imaging insights for diagnosis, staging, therapy planning, and follow-up pathways.
* Supervise and guide nuclear medicine technologists, junior radiologists, and clinical staff involved in PET CT and hybrid imaging workflows.
* Ensure imaging practice follows radiation safety protocols, hospital policies, quality standards, and UAE healthcare regulatory requirements.
* Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, peer review activities, and imaging quality improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate and timely reporting using PACS, RIS, and relevant advanced imaging platforms.
* Review radiopharmaceutical protocols, tracer distribution patterns, image quality, artifacts, and clinical correlation before finalizing reports.
* Contribute to teaching, academic development, case reviews, clinical research, and continuing medical education within the department.
* Support protocol optimization for PET CT imaging, diagnostic CT correlation, reporting consistency, and safe patient-centered imaging care.
* Communicate effectively with referring physicians regarding urgent findings, complex interpretations, and recommended diagnostic follow-up.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification.
* Completed residency training in Radiology.
* Fellowship or subspecialty training in PET CT, Nuclear Medicine Imaging, or hybrid imaging.
* Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent recognized qualification.
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience in PET CT interpretation.
* Eligible for consultant-level licensing with the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
* Strong background in oncologic imaging, metabolic diagnostics, hybrid imaging, and diagnostic CT correlation.
* Experience with PET CT, SPECT CT, PACS, RIS, advanced imaging workstations, and structured radiology reporting systems.
* Familiarity with radiopharmaceutical protocols, tracer kinetics, radiation safety, and nuclear medicine imaging workflows.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with oncology, neurology, surgery, nuclear medicine, and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
* Interest in academic teaching, clinical research, audits, and departmental quality improvement will be an advantage.
* Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
* Strong communication, diagnostic accuracy, documentation, and clinical decision-support skills.
