Role Context
The Consultant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist plays a critical role in helping patients recover from injuries, disabilities, and chronic neuromuscular conditions. This position supports long-term rehabilitation success through personalized treatment planning, advanced therapeutic interventions, and close coordination with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients with musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, chronic pain, and functional disabilities
* Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans to improve mobility, strength, independence, and daily living function
* Utilize therapeutic approaches including exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, assistive devices, and functional training programs
* Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and rehabilitation nurses
* Provide patient and family education regarding injury prevention, recovery planning, lifestyle adaptation, and long-term wellness strategies
* Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal functional outcomes
* Participate in case conferences, rehabilitation planning meetings, and interdisciplinary clinical discussions
* Ensure compliance with evidence-based rehabilitation protocols, clinical governance, and healthcare quality standards
* Support departmental growth through service improvement projects, staff mentoring, and training initiatives
* Stay updated on rehabilitation medicine advancements and participate in continuous professional development activities
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from a recognized accredited institution
* Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is mandatory
* Minimum 5 years of post-certification Consultant-level experience in a hospital or specialized rehabilitation center
* Strong expertise in rehabilitation technologies, neuromuscular recovery, and chronic pain management
* Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams
* Excellent communication, patient counseling, and treatment planning skills
* Arabic language skills are an advantage
* Strong commitment to patient-centered rehabilitation outcomes
