Role Context
The Consultant Physician - Pediatric Pulmonology will provide specialist medical care for children with acute, chronic, and complex respiratory conditions. The role supports accurate diagnosis, safe treatment, disease monitoring, patient education, and multidisciplinary care coordination while helping strengthen pediatric pulmonary services within a modern healthcare environment in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialized medical care for pediatric patients with respiratory disorders, including asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchitis, recurrent chest infections, and other pulmonary conditions
* Conduct detailed medical assessments, review patient history, perform clinical examinations, and request appropriate diagnostic tests
* Interpret pulmonary function tests, imaging reports, laboratory findings, and other respiratory investigations to support accurate diagnosis
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, age, medical history, clinical severity, and long-term care needs
* Prescribe appropriate medications, inhaler therapies, respiratory support plans, and follow-up care where required
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to response, disease control, and evolving clinical findings
* Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, respiratory therapists, intensivists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care
* Support the development and implementation of pediatric pulmonary healthcare programs and respiratory care services
* Participate in medical education, clinical training, and knowledge-sharing for healthcare professionals and students
* Stay updated with advancements in pediatric pulmonology, respiratory diagnostics, treatment guidelines, and emerging therapies
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in line with hospital policies and UAE healthcare standards
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution
* Completion of specialized training in pediatric pulmonology through diploma, board certification, fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification
* Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a pediatric pulmonologist
* Western education or Western clinical training is required
* Strong expertise in pediatric respiratory disorders, asthma care, cystic fibrosis management, bronchitis treatment, and chronic pulmonary conditions
* Confident ability to interpret diagnostic tests and develop evidence-based treatment plans
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and clinical teams
* Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced healthcare environment
* Fluency in English is required, while Arabic language skills are an advantage
