The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will provide expert surgical care for patients requiring reconstructive, corrective, and cosmetic procedures. The position requires strong operative judgment, careful patient assessment, clear communication about treatment options and risks, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, ethical, and patient-focused surgical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures in line with approved clinical standards, patient needs, and safety guidelines.
* Conduct detailed pre-operative assessments, review medical history, evaluate suitability for surgery, and explain expected outcomes clearly to patients.
* Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, manage complications when required, and support patient comfort throughout the treatment journey.
* Develop comprehensive surgical treatment plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists, nurses, dermatologists, rehabilitation teams, and other healthcare professionals.
* Maintain accurate patient records, consent forms, operative notes, follow-up documentation, and treatment plans according to medical standards.
* Stay updated with current plastic surgery techniques, reconstructive innovations, cosmetic surgery technology, and evidence-based surgical practices.
* Educate patients on available procedures, recovery expectations, realistic outcomes, potential risks, and long-term care requirements.
* Participate in clinical meetings, surgical case reviews, medical conferences, and training programs to strengthen professional practice.
* Support a culture of patient safety, confidentiality, ethical consultation, and continuous improvement within the surgical department.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* Board certification in Plastic Surgery or an equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
* Proven experience in both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures.
* Strong surgical planning, operative decision-making, and post-operative care skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with a professional and patient-centered approach.
* Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams in a hospital or specialist surgical setting.
