Role Context
The Consultant - Plastic Surgery will provide specialized reconstructive and aesthetic surgical care for patients requiring functional restoration, cosmetic enhancement, trauma repair, post-oncologic reconstruction, burns management, and non-surgical aesthetic interventions. The role requires strong clinical judgment, refined surgical planning, Arabic and English communication capability, and the ability to manage complex cases with oncology, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, critical care, anesthesia, and nursing teams. The consultant will help strengthen premium plastic surgery services in Dubai by combining technical excellence, cultural sensitivity, safety, and exceptional patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgical services in line with international standards and Dubai healthcare expectations.
* Perform complex reconstructive procedures, including trauma reconstruction, microsurgery, burns reconstruction, scar revision, soft tissue repair, and post-oncologic restoration.
* Provide aesthetic surgical procedures across face, breast, and body contouring, ensuring careful assessment, realistic patient counselling, and safe operative planning.
* Deliver non-surgical aesthetic interventions where clinically appropriate, following evidence-based practice and patient safety standards.
* Conduct detailed pre-operative consultations, risk assessments, treatment planning, consent discussions, and surgical suitability reviews.
* Manage post-operative recovery, wound care, complication prevention, follow-up visits, and long-term outcome monitoring.
* Collaborate with oncology, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, critical care, radiology, anesthesia, nursing, and allied healthcare teams for high-acuity and multidisciplinary cases.
* Communicate clearly with patients in Arabic and English, supporting trust, informed decision-making, and culturally sensitive care.
* Maintain exceptional standards of patient counselling, confidentiality, professionalism, service quality, and satisfaction.
* Ensure strict compliance with DHA regulations, clinical governance requirements, infection control standards, and hospital policies.
* Keep accurate medical records, operative notes, consent forms, photography documentation where applicable, treatment plans, and follow-up reports.
* Participate in clinical meetings, case reviews, quality improvement activities, and continuing professional development related to plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Board certification or fellowship in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant registration in Dubai.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-specialization experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
* Proven expertise in both surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
* Strong clinical experience in trauma reconstruction, microsurgery, burns reconstruction, post-oncologic restoration, facial aesthetics, breast surgery, and body contouring.
* Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, with strong English communication skills preferred.
* Ability to manage complex surgical cases and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Strong interpersonal skills with a calm, professional, and patient-focused approach.
* High attention to safety, detail, ethics, confidentiality, and clinical documentation.
