Role Context
The Consultant - Plastic Surgery will provide advanced reconstructive and aesthetic surgical care for patients requiring functional restoration, cosmetic enhancement, trauma reconstruction, burns management, post-oncologic reconstruction, and non-surgical aesthetic interventions. The role requires strong surgical precision, patient counselling ability, Arabic and English communication skills, and close collaboration with oncology, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, critical care, anesthesia, nursing, and allied healthcare teams. The consultant will support Dubai’s premium healthcare standards by combining safe surgical practice, excellent patient communication, ethical care, and refined clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgical services aligned with international healthcare standards.
* Perform complex reconstructive procedures including trauma reconstruction, microsurgery, burns reconstruction, post-oncologic restoration, and functional soft tissue repair.
* Provide a full range of aesthetic procedures covering facial surgery, breast surgery, body contouring, and selected non-surgical interventions.
* Conduct detailed preoperative assessments, risk evaluation, treatment planning, informed consent discussions, and surgical suitability reviews.
* Provide structured postoperative follow-up, wound care planning, complication monitoring, recovery guidance, and long-term outcome assessment.
* Manage high-acuity and multidisciplinary surgical cases in collaboration with oncology, orthopaedics, ENT, dermatology, critical care, anesthesia, and nursing teams.
* Apply safe, evidence-based practice while maintaining strict compliance with DHA regulations, hospital protocols, clinical governance frameworks, and patient safety standards.
* Deliver culturally sensitive care in Arabic and English to support patient trust, informed decision-making, and clear treatment expectations.
* Counsel patients on surgical options, realistic outcomes, risks, recovery timelines, aftercare needs, and non-surgical alternatives where appropriate.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, consent records, treatment plans, photography documentation where applicable, and follow-up summaries.
* Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, ethical surgical practice, and service excellence in line with Dubai’s premium healthcare expectations.
* Support clinical quality, patient satisfaction, multidisciplinary teamwork, and continuous improvement within the plastic surgery service.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
* Board certification, fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant registration.
* Minimum 5-7 years of post-specialization experience in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
* Proven expertise in both surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
* Strong experience in trauma reconstruction, microsurgery, burns reconstruction, post-oncologic restoration, facial procedures, breast procedures, and body contouring.
* Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, with strong English communication skills preferred.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural and high-performance clinical environment.
* Strong patient counselling ability with a professional, empathetic, and confidential approach.
