Key Responsibilities
* Perform plastic surgery procedures covering reconstructive, cosmetic, corrective, and aesthetic surgical needs in line with accepted medical standards.
* Assess patients through detailed consultation, clinical examination, medical history review, risk evaluation, and procedure suitability assessment.
* Develop individualized surgical treatment plans that consider patient goals, functional requirements, safety factors, expected outcomes, and recovery needs.
* Provide pre-operative counselling on procedure options, benefits, risks, limitations, recovery timelines, and realistic aesthetic or reconstructive outcomes.
* Deliver safe operative care using current plastic surgery techniques, sterile practice, patient safety protocols, and appropriate surgical planning.
* Manage post-operative care including wound review, pain control coordination, complication monitoring, recovery advice, and follow-up scheduling.
* Collaborate with dermatologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, rehabilitation teams, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals when multidisciplinary input is required.
* Maintain accurate patient records, consultation notes, consent documentation, operative reports, treatment plans, follow-up records, and medical photography documentation where applicable.
* Use medical software, digital records, clinical imaging systems, and healthcare technology to support accurate planning and documentation.
* Stay updated with advancements in reconstructive surgery, cosmetic techniques, minimally invasive procedures, patient safety standards, and surgical technology.
* Educate patients on surgical expectations, aftercare, scar management, lifestyle factors, possible risks, and long-term maintenance.
* Participate in medical conferences, training programs, continuing medical education, and professional development activities.
* Support clinical governance, infection control, quality improvement, ethical practice, and compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited medical institution.
* Board certification in Plastic Surgery.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.
* Proven experience performing reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery procedures.
* Strong clinical background in surgical assessment, patient counselling, operative planning, and post-operative follow-up.
* Skilled in managing patient expectations with professionalism, honesty, and clear communication.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting is highly valued.
* Proficient in using medical software, electronic health records, clinical documentation systems, and relevant surgical technology.
