Position Overview
A Consultant Psychiatrist opportunity is available in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for an experienced Arabic-speaking physician with expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of psychiatric disorders. The consultant will provide patient-centered psychiatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings while working within a multidisciplinary mental health team. The position requires Board Certification in Psychiatry, significant Consultant-level experience, and eligibility for UAE medical licensing.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychosis,
and personality disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments and establish appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage acute psychiatric presentations as well as patients requiring long-term mental health care.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications safely and effectively.
- Provide inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric care.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in patient management.
- Provide psychotherapy and supportive counselling when clinically appropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and coordinated treatment planning.
- Maintain ethical, legal, and clinical standards throughout psychiatric practice.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and support the training of junior doctors and mental health staff.
- Contribute to patient education and mental health awareness initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent, from a recognized institution.
- Board Certification in Psychiatry is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
- UK CCT, MRCPsych, or equivalent Western training is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Strong experience providing both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
- Ability to manage complex and high-risk psychiatric cases.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity within mental healthcare.
- Eligibility for appropriate UAE medical licensing.
