Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and other mental health conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide appropriate psychiatric medication management and ongoing clinical monitoring.
- Conduct psychotherapy, counselling, and behavioral interventions where appropriate.
- Manage psychiatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, neurologists, primary care physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide crisis intervention and emergency psychiatric care when required.
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation according to applicable healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing medical education.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Psychiatry.
- Appropriate UAE professional license or eligibility for Consultant-level licensing in Dubai.
- Minimum 5-7 years of post-board Consultant experience in Psychiatry within a reputable hospital or mental health center.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.
- Strong expertise in adult psychiatry and mental health management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counselling skills.
