The Consultant Psychiatrist plays a critical role in improving mental wellness, emotional stability, and long-term recovery for adult patients facing psychiatric conditions. This position supports the healthcare system by delivering specialist diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and collaborative care across multidisciplinary teams. The role directly contributes to patient safety, quality outcomes, and stronger community mental health support in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for adult patients
* Develop personalized treatment plans covering medication, therapy, and long-term recovery strategies
* Provide psychopharmacological treatment and monitor patient progress and treatment effectiveness
* Support patients dealing with mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, anxiety, depression, and psychosis
* Work closely with psychologists, therapists, social workers, and primary care physicians for integrated care
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records using EMR systems and clinical documentation standards
* Participate in medical reviews, case discussions, and clinical governance activities
* Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment pathways, and coping methods
* Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, ethical medical standards, and internal healthcare protocols
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with recognized specialization in Psychiatry
* Consultant-level certification such as UK CCT, Arab Board, or equivalent qualification
* Fluent Arabic communication skills in both written and spoken form
* Minimum five years of consultant-level experience in adult psychiatry
* DHA eligibility or readiness to complete Dubai licensure requirements
* Strong understanding of multicultural patient care and Middle Eastern social sensitivities
* Excellent diagnostic, interpersonal, and therapeutic communication skills
* Female candidates preferred for gender-sensitive patient interaction
