Role Context
The Consultant Radiologist - Interventional will provide advanced image-guided care
for patients requiring diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across multiple specialties. The role supports safer alternatives to open surgery by using CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy-guided techniques to treat vascular, oncological, emergency, and complex clinical conditions. Strong procedural accuracy, Arabic and English communication skills, multidisciplinary coordination, and evidence-based decision-making are essential for improving patient comfort, reducing procedural risk, and supporting better clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, stenting, embolization, image-guided biopsies, drainages, vascular access procedures, and other minimally invasive interventions.
* Interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other imaging studies to guide procedures, confirm diagnoses, assess risks, and support treatment decisions.
* Evaluate patients before procedures, review medical history, imaging findings, contraindications, consent requirements, and clinical suitability for intervention.
* Collaborate with oncology, vascular medicine, emergency care, surgery, internal medicine, anesthesiology, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient-centered treatment plans.
* Provide procedural care for oncology-related interventions, vascular cases, urgent drainages, biopsies, and emergency image-guided treatments where clinically appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, DHA requirements, hospital protocols, infection control standards, and interventional radiology safety guidelines.
* Maintain accurate documentation including consultation notes, procedure records, consent details, imaging findings, complication reports, and follow-up plans.
* Mentor junior radiologists, residents, technologists, nurses, and clinical staff involved in interventional radiology workflow.
* Contribute to clinical education, departmental training, case discussions, and multidisciplinary learning activities.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety reviews, audit activity, clinical research, and service development projects.
* Communicate clearly with Arabic-speaking and English-speaking patients and families regarding procedure purpose, expected benefits, risks, recovery, and aftercare instructions.
* Stay updated with advances in interventional radiology techniques, imaging technology, vascular procedures, oncology interventions, and international best practices.
Ideal Profile
* Medical Degree such as MD or equivalent from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Radiology.
* Fellowship or recognized subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology.
* Western training such as UK CCT, American Board, or equivalent is required.
* Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship experience in interventional radiology procedures.
* DHA license or eligibility to practice in Dubai.
* Fluent Arabic and English communication skills are required.
