The Consultant Radiologist specializing in PET CT imaging plays a critical role in cancer diagnosis, staging, treatment monitoring, and advanced metabolic imaging across multiple specialties. This position strengthens hospital excellence by providing highly accurate interpretations, supporting multidisciplinary tumor management, and ensuring advanced imaging services meet international clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret PET CT and hybrid imaging studies including SPECT CT and diagnostic CT for oncology, neurology, and cardiology cases
* Support diagnosis, cancer staging, treatment planning, and therapy response monitoring through advanced metabolic imaging
* Collaborate with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, and physicians for accurate multidisciplinary case management
* Supervise nuclear medicine technologists, junior radiologists, and reporting workflows within the imaging department
* Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, hospital governance, and DHA clinical regulations
* Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary meetings, and complex diagnostic case discussions
* Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and advanced imaging protocol development
* Support academic teaching, clinical research, and continuous medical education programs within radiology services
* Maintain accurate reporting using PACS, RIS, and advanced imaging platforms with timely documentation standards
* Apply radiopharmaceutical protocols and ensure high standards in tracer interpretation and imaging accuracy
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent with completed residency in Radiology
* Fellowship or subspecialty training in PET CT or Nuclear Medicine Imaging is essential
* Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or equivalent consultant qualification
* Minimum three to five years of post-fellowship experience in PET CT interpretation
* Strong expertise in oncologic imaging and metabolic diagnostic interpretation
* Experience with radiopharmaceutical protocols, tracer kinetics, and hybrid imaging systems
* Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
* Eligibility for specialist licensing within UAE healthcare authority standards
