Role Context
The Consultant Radiologist - PET-CT will support an advanced imaging department by delivering accurate, timely, and clinically meaningful reports for complex diagnostic cases. The position plays a key role in cancer staging, treatment monitoring, neurological assessment, metabolic diagnostics, and multidisciplinary care planning for patients who require high-level imaging interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret PET-CT and hybrid imaging studies for oncology, neurology, cardiology, and complex diagnostic cases.
* Review SPECT-CT, diagnostic CT, and related nuclear medicine imaging when required.
* Work closely with oncologists, neurologists, surgeons, and other specialists to support diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
* Provide clear, structured, and clinically relevant reports using PACS and RIS platforms.
* Supervise nuclear medicine technologists, junior radiologists, and imaging team members during specialist diagnostic workflows.
* Ensure imaging practice follows radiation safety protocols, quality standards, and applicable healthcare authority requirements.
* Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, and departmental quality improvement programs.
* Support research, academic teaching, continuing medical education, and imaging service development.
* Maintain high reporting accuracy, turnaround efficiency, and patient safety standards across PET-CT and advanced imaging services.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent with completed residency training in Radiology.
* Fellowship or subspecialty training in PET-CT, nuclear medicine imaging, or hybrid imaging.
* Board certification such as American Board, UK CCT, Canadian FRCP, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
* Minimum 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience in PET-CT interpretation.
* Eligible for consultant-level healthcare licensing and specialist classification where required.
* Strong background in oncologic imaging, metabolic diagnostics, and complex cross-sectional imaging.
* Confident in multidisciplinary communication with oncology, neurology, surgery, and nuclear medicine teams.
* Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic language ability is an advantage.
* Interest in academic teaching, departmental research, or clinical imaging innovation is preferred.
