The Consultant Reproductive Medicine Specialist will provide advanced fertility and reproductive care for individuals and couples experiencing infertility, recurrent implantation failure, recurrent pregnancy loss, or other complex reproductive challenges. The role combines detailed diagnostic assessment, assisted conception planning, ovarian stimulation management, ultrasound-guided monitoring, fertility preservation counseling, and coordination with embryology and genetic services. Through personalized treatment planning and close multidisciplinary collaboration, the consultant will help optimize reproductive outcomes while providing clear and compassionate support throughout the fertility journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive consultations for female and male infertility.
* Review reproductive history, previous pregnancies, prior fertility treatments, medical conditions, and relevant lifestyle factors.
* Perform clinical assessments and coordinate hormonal, imaging, genetic, and laboratory investigations.
* Develop individualized fertility treatment plans according to diagnosis, reproductive goals, age, ovarian reserve, and previous treatment response.
* Manage ovulation induction protocols and monitor patient response throughout treatment.
* Provide clinical management for intrauterine insemination treatment cycles.
* Lead IVF and ICSI treatment pathways from initial planning through embryo transfer and follow-up.
* Manage controlled ovarian stimulation using individualized medication protocols.
* Perform and interpret transvaginal ultrasound examinations for fertility assessment and follicular monitoring.
* Assess ovarian response and modify stimulation protocols when clinically required.
* Coordinate oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer procedures within the scope of specialist practice.
* Counsel patients regarding fertility preservation options including egg freezing and embryo freezing.
* Develop treatment strategies for patients experiencing recurrent implantation failure.
* Evaluate recurrent pregnancy loss and coordinate appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic pathways.
* Manage complex infertility involving multiple female, male, genetic, or reproductive factors.
* Review semen analysis, hormonal profiles, ovarian reserve investigations, and related reproductive diagnostic findings.
* Coordinate preimplantation genetic testing pathways with embryologists and genetic specialists where appropriate.
* Work closely with embryologists, geneticists, gynecologists, nurses, and other fertility professionals.
* Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions for difficult or unsuccessful fertility cases.
* Explain treatment options, success expectations, potential risks, limitations, and alternative reproductive pathways clearly to patients.
* Provide sensitive counseling during unsuccessful treatment cycles and future fertility planning.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, stimulation protocols, procedure records, consent documentation, and treatment outcomes.
* Contribute to clinical protocol development, treatment outcome review, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
* Remain current with developments in reproductive endocrinology, assisted reproductive technology, fertility preservation, and reproductive genetics.
* Deliver evidence-based care in accordance with DHA requirements, clinical governance standards, and internationally recognized fertility practices.
Ideal Profile
* MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
* Recognized specialist or consultant qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Medicine, or an equivalent relevant specialty.
* Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine or Infertility is highly desirable.
* Valid DHA license, DHA eligibility, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate professional license in Dubai.
* Significant post-specialization experience in reproductive medicine and fertility care.
* Strong clinical experience managing IVF and ICSI treatment cycles.
* Proven competence in fertility assessment, ovarian stimulation, and ultrasound-guided reproductive monitoring.
* Strong understanding of assisted reproductive technologies and modern infertility treatment protocols.
