Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and treat sports-related injuries, including fractures, sprains, strains, dislocations, ligament tears, tendon injuries, joint instability, and overuse conditions.
* Provide consultant-level orthopedic assessment for athletes, active individuals, and patients requiring sports medicine-focused surgical or non-surgical care.
* Perform orthopedic surgical procedures such as arthroscopy, joint reconstruction, ligament repair, and other sports injury-related interventions.
* Develop individualized treatment plans that may include medication, physical therapy, rehabilitation, bracing, surgical care, and return-to-activity planning.
* Work closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, primary care physicians, radiology teams, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists to coordinate patient recovery.
* Educate patients on injury prevention, exercise techniques, safe training habits, recovery timelines, nutrition awareness, and long-term musculoskeletal health.
* Review imaging, clinical findings, functional assessments, and patient goals to recommend the most appropriate treatment pathway.
* Monitor patient progress after surgery or conservative treatment and adjust rehabilitation plans when needed.
* Keep updated with developments in sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, arthroscopic techniques, injury prevention, and evidence-based rehabilitation.
* Mentor and supervise junior doctors, residents, medical students, and clinical staff involved in orthopedic and sports medicine care.
* Maintain accurate patient records, operative notes, treatment plans, follow-up reports, and clinical documentation in line with hospital standards.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited university.
* Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery from a recognized institution.
* Fellowship training in Sports Medicine is required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant in Sports Medicine Orthopedics or a similar orthopedic sports medicine role.
* Western training is required.
* Strong expertise in sports injuries, arthroscopy, ligament repair, joint reconstruction, fracture care, and rehabilitation-based recovery planning.
* Confident in managing athletes, active individuals, and complex musculoskeletal injury cases.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain diagnosis, procedures, recovery plans, and prevention strategies clearly.
* Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a busy clinical or hospital environment.
* Strong problem-solving, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
