The successful candidate will provide specialized diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and preventive care for sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions affecting athletes and physically active individuals.
The role focuses on injury prevention, non-surgical management, rehabilitation, performance optimization, and safe return-to-play decisions. The Consultant will work closely with a multidisciplinary team while contributing to clinical governance, education, research, and continuous improvement in sports medicine services.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions through comprehensive clinical assessment, functional evaluation, and fitness-for-sport screening.
* Develop and oversee individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
* Conduct return-to-play assessments and manage concussion cases.
* Perform sports medicine procedures, including injections and ultrasound-guided interventions where indicated.
* Deliver evidence-based and patient-centered care while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
* Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, patient safety, and professional standards.
* Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, radiologists, nutritionists, sports scientists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
* Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Educate athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.
* Participate in research, clinical audits, and continuing medical education activities.
* Mentor junior medical professionals and allied healthcare staff.
Qualifications
* Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
* Completion of approved residency training.
* Fellowship or Board Certification in Sports Medicine, Sport and Exercise Medicine, Family Medicine with Sports Medicine Fellowship, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with Sports Medicine specialization, or equivalent.
* Appropriate Consultant License or eligibility for consultant-level professional licensure in Dubai.
* Valid professional registration and good standing certificate.
Experience
* Minimum 10 years of post-board or fellowship experience as a Consultant in Sports Medicine.
* Experience managing elite athletes, professional sports teams, and physically active populations is preferred.
* Expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided procedures is highly desirable.
