Role Context
The Consultant Urologist will provide specialist clinical and surgical care for patients with urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, prostate conditions, reproductive system concerns, and urological cancers. The role requires strong diagnostic judgment, advanced operative skills, and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive treatment plans and high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage urological conditions affecting the kidneys, bladder, prostate, urinary tract, and male reproductive system.
* Treat kidney stones, prostate disorders, urinary tract cancers, infections, functional urology concerns, and related complex cases.
* Perform urological surgeries, including minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, robotic-assisted surgery, and other advanced techniques.
* Conduct patient assessments, review diagnostic results, and develop personalized care plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
* Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, nephrologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to support integrated patient care.
* Provide clear patient education on diagnosis, treatment options, prevention, lifestyle changes, surgical risks, and recovery expectations.
* Manage follow-up consultations, post-operative care, complication monitoring, and long-term treatment planning.
* Stay updated with developments in urological technology, surgical techniques, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practice.
* Ensure all clinical and surgical work follows UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, documentation standards, and patient safety protocols.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree such as MBBS or equivalent from a recognized institution.
* Board certification in Urology from a recognized Western training system.
* Minimum 5 years of post-training experience in a reputable hospital, specialist center, or clinic.
* Western-trained background is required.
* Experience with advanced urological surgery, including robotic-assisted procedures, is preferred.
* Familiarity with UAE healthcare regulations and clinical standards is an advantage.
* Strong ability to manage complex urology cases and make timely, informed clinical decisions.
* Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
* Fluent English communication is required, while Arabic language ability is an advantage.
