What Does an ER Doctor Do?

This role requires exceptional clinical judgment, rapid response skills, and the ability to stabilize patients before transferring them to appropriate departments or specialists.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Perform immediate assessment and stabilization of patients entering the emergency room
- Diagnose conditions quickly and accurately using clinical examinations and medical tests
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for emergency cases
- Monitor patient progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists or departments for further care
- Ensure patient stability before transfer or discharge, providing clear instructions and documentation
- Maintain up-to-date patient medical records and coordinate care with ER staff
- Collaborate with nurses, radiologists, lab technicians, and other departments to streamline emergency care
What Skills Are Needed for an ER Doctor in Dubai?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience in a high-pressure emergency care setting
