Role Context
The Consultant - Obstetrics and Gynecology will deliver comprehensive medical and surgical care for women across all stages of reproductive and gynecological health. The role includes managing routine and complex gynecological conditions, supporting prenatal and antenatal care, performing deliveries and Caesarean sections, counselling patients on fertility and contraception, and ensuring safe outcomes through evidence-based practice. The consultant will help strengthen women’s healthcare services in Dubai by combining advanced clinical judgment, compassionate communication, and coordinated care with multidisciplinary medical teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality obstetric and gynecological care for women of all ages in a modern, patient-focused clinical environment.
* Diagnose and manage routine and complex gynecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, endometriosis, hormonal concerns, and reproductive health issues.
* Conduct prenatal, antenatal, and postnatal care, including clinical assessments, ultrasound review, risk monitoring, counselling, and follow-up planning.
* Manage normal deliveries, Caesarean sections, and gynecological procedures according to clinical need and patient safety standards.
* Develop individualized treatment plans for obstetric and gynecological patients based on history, examination findings, diagnostic results, and evidence-based guidelines.
* Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception options, fertility pathways, pregnancy planning, preventive screening, and long-term women’s wellness.
* Collaborate with midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
* Provide clear counselling on diagnosis, treatment options, procedural risks, expected outcomes, and recovery plans.
* Maintain accurate medical records, consultation notes, delivery records, operative reports, consent documentation, prescriptions, and follow-up details.
* Stay updated with advancements in obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine, surgical practice, and patient safety standards.
* Follow DHA or MOH requirements, clinical governance frameworks, ethical standards, confidentiality rules, and hospital protocols.
* Support a respectful care environment focused on patient trust, privacy, cultural awareness, and high-quality clinical outcomes.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree from an accredited institution.
* American Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Valid DHA or MOH license as Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Minimum 7 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
* At least 3 years of experience in the UAE or GCC region.
* Western education or training is required.
* Strong experience in prenatal care, antenatal care, postnatal care, normal deliveries, Caesarean sections, gynecological procedures, and women’s health consultations.
* Proven ability to manage complex gynecological conditions such as pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fertility concerns, and reproductive health cases.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, compassionate, and patient-centered approach.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
* Strong commitment to patient safety, clinical quality, confidentiality, professional development, and evidence-based medicine.
