Role Context
The Head Nurse - Clinic Operations will lead a team of nursing staff in a modern outpatient clinic environment, ensuring patients receive safe, organized, and high-quality care throughout their clinical journey. The role combines hands-on nursing leadership, staff coordination, care planning, infection control, medication safety, documentation review, and operational decision-making. By mentoring nurses, managing schedules, supporting clinical standards, and working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, this position strengthens patient experience, service quality, and nursing performance across the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate a nursing team of 8-15 staff members, ensuring daily clinical activities are organized, safe, and aligned with patient care priorities.
* Oversee nursing assignments, shift planning, workload distribution, and staff deployment across clinic areas.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients according to clinical needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to nursing staff, supporting clinical confidence, professional behavior, and continuous improvement.
* Act as a key communication link between nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, clinic operations, and patients.
* Support smooth patient journeys by ensuring nursing care, clinical preparation, documentation, and follow-up activities are completed accurately.
* Maintain strict compliance with infection control, medication safety, confidentiality, patient safety, and clinical governance protocols.
* Monitor nursing documentation, care plans, KPI data, incident reporting, and clinical records for accuracy and completeness.
* Support acute and chronic disease management for patients with respiratory, cardiac, diabetes, wound care, and other outpatient care needs.
* Perform and supervise clinical procedures such as ECG, spirometry, wound care, immunizations, venepuncture, cannulation, IV drug administration, and emergency response.
* Identify clinical risks, staffing issues, workflow gaps, and patient care concerns, then take timely action to resolve or escalate them.
* Support staff development through coaching, training follow-up, competency checks, and implementation of best nursing practices.
* Promote a positive, disciplined, and patient-centered nursing culture within the clinic.
* Work with clinic leadership to improve operational efficiency, service quality, patient satisfaction, and nursing team performance.
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
* Valid DHA License or DHA eligibility as a Registered Nurse is mandatory.
* BLS Certification is mandatory.
* ACLS or PALS Certification is an advantage.
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse in a clinical setting, preferably within an accredited healthcare facility.
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a Charge Nurse, Head Nurse, Senior Nurse, or nursing team leader.
* UAE healthcare experience is preferred, especially in outpatient clinics, medical centers, or multi-specialty healthcare environments.
* Strong experience in nursing scheduling, staff delegation, care coordination, and team supervision.
* Clinical capability in acute and chronic disease management, including respiratory, cardiac, diabetes, wound care, immunization, IV therapy, venepuncture, cannulation, ECG, spirometry, and emergency care.
* Strong knowledge of infection control, medication safety, patient confidentiality, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
* Excellent English communication skills across speaking, reading, and writing.
* Arabic language skills are an advantage.
* Comfortable using digital health systems, electronic medical records, reporting tools, and standard computer applications.
* Strong leadership, conflict management, analytical thinking, and decision-making ability.
