This role focuses on delivering specialized neonatal intensive care services, ensuring the stabilization, monitoring, and recovery of premature and critically ill newborns while supporting families and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve survival and long-term outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide intensive care for premature and critically ill newborns from admission through discharge
* Conduct clinical assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans
* Monitor neonatal patients continuously and respond promptly to changes in condition
* Perform life-saving procedures and support respiratory and nutritional management
* Collaborate with pediatricians, nurses, and specialists for coordinated neonatal care
* Educate parents on neonatal care, feeding practices, and infant development
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with healthcare standards
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to safety protocols
* Supervise and train junior medical staff and support team development
* Stay updated with advancements in neonatal intensive care and apply best practices
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Neonatology or Pediatric Intensive Care
* Board certification in Neonatal Intensive Care or equivalent qualification
* Minimum 5 years of experience as a Consultant in NICU settings
* Western-trained background preferred
* Strong clinical expertise in neonatal critical care management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in high-pressure and multicultural healthcare environments
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
