Role Context
The Orthopaedic Surgeon is responsible for delivering specialist and consultant-level musculoskeletal care across clinics, procedures, and inpatient services. This role supports both elective and emergency orthopaedic pathways, helping patients recover from injuries, trauma, degenerative conditions, and surgical interventions while maintaining clinical excellence and regulatory compliance across all stages of treatment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver consultant or specialist-level orthopaedic care in line with evidence-based clinical practice and Al-Futtaim Health medical standards
* Diagnose and manage a broad range of orthopaedic conditions including fractures, sports injuries, degenerative joint disorders, and musculoskeletal trauma
* Perform orthopaedic surgeries and procedures within approved scope and clinical credentialing
* Manage outpatient consultations, inpatient admissions, pre-operative planning, surgery, and post-operative rehabilitation follow-up
* Provide reliable and consistent coverage across outpatient clinics and inpatient services based on departmental workflow and on-call schedules
* Develop personalized treatment plans with patients, families, and multidisciplinary medical teams
* Prescribe and interpret diagnostic investigations including imaging, laboratory testing, and specialist assessments
* Maintain accurate and compliant medical records according to DHA and internal governance standards
* Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, surgical options, risks, expected outcomes, and preventive care
* Participate in on-call rotations and emergency orthopaedic support when required
* Collaborate with physicians, physiotherapists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals for seamless patient care
* Support clinical audits, quality improvement programs, CME activities, and mentoring of junior medical staff
Ideal Profile
* DHA-licensed Consultant or Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution
* Recognized specialty qualification in Orthopaedics approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH UAE
* Minimum 5 years of post-qualification specialist or consultant experience across both inpatient and outpatient settings
* Strong surgical expertise and clinical decision-making skills in orthopaedic practice
* Experience working within private healthcare environments and building sustainable patient relationships
* Fluent in Arabic and English for effective patient communication
* Valid BLS and ALS certifications
* Strong documentation skills, updated surgical logbook, and computer literacy
* Academic publications or research involvement considered an added advantage
