The position requires strong clinical judgment, emotional sensitivity, and the ability to coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams. The selected consultant will work closely with pediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and tumor board teams to support accurate diagnosis, advanced treatment planning, ongoing monitoring, and improved outcomes for young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors, anemia, clotting disorders, and other blood diseases
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, diagnostic findings, clinical protocols, and evidence-based pediatric oncology standards
* Administer and oversee chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy, supportive care, medication plans, and treatment monitoring
* Coordinate care with pediatricians, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, nurses, nutrition teams, and allied healthcare professionals
* Monitor patient progress, treatment response, complications, side effects, blood counts, imaging updates, and disease status while adjusting care plans as required
* Provide compassionate counseling, education, and emotional support to children, adolescents, parents, and families throughout diagnosis, treatment, remission, and follow-up care
* Use advanced diagnostic tools, laboratory investigations, imaging results, pathology reports, and medical technologies to support accurate treatment decisions
* Participate in tumor boards, departmental meetings, clinical audits, morbidity reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
* Stay updated with advancements in pediatric hematology, pediatric oncology, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, clinical guidelines, and research developments
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in line with DHA requirements, hospital policies, and clinical governance standards
* Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and professional development of junior doctors, residents, fellows, and clinical team members when applicable
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a Consultant Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist with strong post-board experience in pediatric cancer care, hematologic disease management, and advanced treatment protocols. This role requires excellent clinical expertise, leadership, communication, and a compassionate approach toward children and families facing complex and long-term medical conditions.
* Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from a recognized institution
* Completion of specialty training in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
* UK Certificate of Completion of Training, American Board Certification, Canadian Board Certification, or equivalent recognized qualification
* Valid DHA Consultant License or eligibility for Consultant Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
* Minimum 5 years of post-board experience in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
* Strong expertise in pediatric cancer management, hematologic disorders, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusion therapy, and supportive oncology care
* Experience in bone marrow transplantation and advanced pediatric oncology treatments will be an advantage
* Background in internationally accredited hospitals or tertiary healthcare centers is preferred
* Participation in clinical research, academic teaching, publications, or clinical trials will add value
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, documentation, leadership, and family counseling skills
* Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary healthcare environment
* Fluency in English is mandatory, and Arabic language skills are an advantage
