Role Context
The Consultant Hematologist is responsible for providing specialized care for patients with benign and malignant blood disorders, ensuring accurate diagnosis, advanced treatment planning, and continuous patient monitoring aligned with international healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and manage hematologic conditions including anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloma
* Treat clotting disorders such as hemophilia and sickle cell disease
* Perform and oversee bone marrow biopsies and interpret diagnostic findings
* Manage transfusion protocols and chemotherapy treatment plans
* Collaborate with oncology, pathology, and radiology teams for integrated patient care
* Provide consultation services across inpatient and outpatient departments
* Participate in tumor boards, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives
* Educate patients and families on disease management and treatment pathways
* Contribute to academic teaching and continuous medical education programs
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with specialization in Hematology
* Board certification in Hematology from a recognized authority
* Eligibility for DOH or UAE licensing authority
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a tertiary or academic hospital setting
* Strong expertise in benign and malignant hematologic conditions
* Excellent diagnostic, procedural, and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary clinical teams
