Pre-Approval Officer | Healthcare | Al-Futtaim Health

The Pre-Approval Officer is responsible for reviewing and processing pre-approval requests, ensuring compliance with insurance regulations, and coordinating with internal teams to optimize claim approvals. This role plays a critical part in reducing claim rejections, improving submission quality, and maintaining seamless communication with payors and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify claim forms assigned on the dashboard, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Update approvals received from insurance companies with 100% precision.
- Communicate with departments to address missing documents or additional information requests.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all pre-approvals are submitted for inpatient, outpatient, and pharmacy claims.
- Work closely with physicians to justify clinical pre-approvals and enhance approval rates.
- Monitor approval processes across various payors and apply customized actions to secure approvals.
- Identify revenue risks, coordinate with coding teams, and rectify insurance rejections.
- Educate billing and approval teams on process improvements and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of claim submissions and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team to enhance claims documentation.
- Analyze financial data related to revenue cycles and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within healthcare.
- Strong background in medical coding, insurance approvals, and revenue cycle management.
- Certified professional coding certificate from a reputed institution.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
