The position covers both routine and complex cardiac presentations, with particular emphasis on conditions commonly requiring long-term monitoring such as hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, dyslipidaemia, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disease.
Based at an established community clinic in Discovery Gardens, the cardiologist will benefit from referral pathways involving Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, General Practice, Pulmonology, and other specialist services. This multidisciplinary structure supports early detection of cardiovascular risk, coordinated treatment, and development of a sustainable patient base.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive specialist cardiology consultations within an outpatient clinical environment.
* Evaluate patients presenting with symptoms, established cardiovascular disease, or elevated cardiac risk.
* Diagnose and manage hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, dyslipidaemia, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
* Interpret ECG findings and incorporate results into appropriate diagnostic and treatment decisions.
* Review Holter monitoring results for rhythm abnormalities and determine suitable follow-up or intervention.
* Interpret echocardiography and other cardiac diagnostic investigations within the scope of specialist practice.
* Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, investigation results, risk factors, and evidence-based cardiology guidelines.
* Establish preventative cardiology programmes for patients at increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
* Perform cardiovascular risk assessments and advise patients on appropriate lifestyle and risk-reduction measures.
* Provide structured follow-up for patients requiring long-term management of chronic cardiac conditions.
* Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust medication or management strategies according to clinical response.
* Identify patients requiring further diagnostic evaluation, hospital-based intervention, or referral to other cardiovascular services.
* Coordinate care with Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, General Practice, nursing, and other specialist teams.
* Build continuity of care through clear communication, appropriate follow-up, and strong physician-patient relationships.
* Maintain accurate and complete DHA-compliant electronic medical records and clinical documentation.
* Contribute to clinical quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and continuing medical education activities.
Ideal Profile
The position requires a DHA Licensed Specialist Cardiologist with at least five years of post-specialist clinical experience. Previous clinical practice in the UAE is required, together with a strong background in outpatient cardiology.
Candidates should be experienced in managing both routine and complex cardiovascular conditions and confident interpreting ECGs, echocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and other cardiac investigations. Expertise in preventative cardiology, cardiovascular risk reduction, and chronic disease management is particularly valuable for this community-based position.
The successful cardiologist should demonstrate the ability to establish trusted long-term relationships with patients and collaborate effectively with physicians across multiple specialties.
