Role Context
The Specialist Endocrinologist will provide comprehensive assessment and ongoing treatment for adults with hormonal, metabolic, and endocrine disorders. The role combines diagnostic evaluation, medication management, laboratory interpretation, chronic disease monitoring, and preventive counseling. By coordinating with internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology, nutrition, ophthalmology, and other specialties, the physician will help reduce complications, improve metabolic control, and support patients who require sustained management of complex endocrine conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Evaluate adult patients presenting with suspected or established endocrine and metabolic disorders.
* Diagnose and manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus using individualized, evidence-based treatment strategies.
* Monitor glycemic control and adjust oral medications, injectable therapies, or insulin regimens according to clinical requirements.
* Assess and treat thyroid conditions including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, and other functional abnormalities.
* Manage obesity and metabolic disorders through medical assessment, risk-factor modification, and coordinated lifestyle interventions.
* Diagnose and treat osteoporosis and other disorders affecting bone health and mineral metabolism.
* Evaluate adrenal conditions including hormone excess, adrenal insufficiency, and abnormalities requiring further endocrine investigation.
* Manage pituitary disorders affecting hormone production, metabolism, reproductive function, growth, or systemic health.
* Investigate abnormalities involving calcium, phosphate, vitamin D, and related metabolic pathways.
* Interpret endocrine laboratory testing, hormone profiles, glucose monitoring data, imaging reports, and other diagnostic investigations.
* Develop individualized care plans that reflect disease severity, comorbidities, treatment response, and long-term health risks.
* Monitor chronic endocrine conditions and modify treatment when clinical findings or laboratory results indicate changing needs.
* Counsel patients regarding nutrition, physical activity, medication adherence, weight management, and prevention of endocrine complications.
* Educate patients on self-management of diabetes and other chronic hormonal disorders.
* Coordinate complex cases with physicians, dietitians, diabetes educators, pharmacists, nurses, and relevant subspecialists.
* Maintain complete consultation notes, investigation results, medication records, treatment plans, and follow-up documentation.

Ideal Profile
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
* Recognized specialist qualification in Endocrinology.
* Appropriate UAE professional license or eligibility to obtain the required specialist license.
