Role Context
The Specialist Gastroenterologist - OPD Care will provide specialist-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients with digestive system conditions. The role contributes to better patient outcomes by supporting early diagnosis, procedural care, investigation interpretation, chronic disease management, patient education, and coordinated care pathways across HealthHub Clinics in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive specialist gastroenterology care in line with evidence-based clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and approved medical protocols.
* Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal, liver, digestive, abdominal, and related internal medicine conditions.
* Perform endoscopic procedures and relevant diagnostic interventions within approved clinical scope.
* Conduct outpatient consultations, review patient history, perform clinical assessments, and create appropriate treatment plans.
* Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging reports, endoscopy findings, and other diagnostic investigations.
* Develop personalized care plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex digestive health conditions.
* Prescribe treatments, medications, investigations, and follow-up plans while ensuring safe and ethical medical practice.
* Provide independent specialist opinions and guide patients through diagnosis, treatment choices, and long-term disease management.
* Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, nurses, allied health professionals, and other specialists to improve patient outcomes.
* Promote preventive care, patient education, lifestyle guidance, screening awareness, and long-term digestive wellness.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, departmental development, and service line enhancement.
* Support medical education, professional development, and knowledge sharing within the clinical team.
Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate should be a confident Specialist Gastroenterologist with strong OPD and procedural experience, sound clinical judgment, and proven ability to manage diverse digestive health cases. The role requires patient-focused communication, ethical practice, multidisciplinary teamwork, and comfort working across multiple clinic locations in Dubai.
* MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification from an accredited institution.
* Recognized Gastroenterology specialty qualification approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH.
* DHA License or DHA Eligibility as a Specialist Gastroenterologist.
* Minimum 5+ years of specialist-level post-qualification experience.
* Strong experience in outpatient gastroenterology and procedural gastroenterology.
* Proven competence across gastroenterology practice, including endoscopic and diagnostic procedures.
* Valid Basic Life Support certification is required.
* ACLS certification is an advantage.
* Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
* Arabic language skills are an advantage.
* Patient-focused, ethical, quality-driven, and comfortable working within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
