Role Context
The Specialist OBGYN will provide continuous women\'s healthcare across pregnancy, childbirth, recovery, reproductive health, and gynecological treatment. The position combines outpatient consultation, inpatient care, surgical procedures, diagnostic assessment, and multidisciplinary coordination. Fluency in Arabic is central to the role, enabling clear communication with patients and families while supporting informed decision-making, trust, and continuity of care throughout sensitive obstetric and gynecological treatment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed obstetric and gynecological consultations for women presenting with routine or complex healthcare needs.
* Manage normal pregnancies as well as high-risk cases requiring closer maternal and fetal monitoring.
* Provide antenatal care including clinical assessment, diagnostic review, pregnancy surveillance, and birth planning.
* Deliver postnatal care focused on maternal recovery, complication monitoring, and continuity of women\'s health treatment.
* Perform cesarean sections when clinically indicated and coordinate peri-operative management.
* Carry out hysterectomy procedures using appropriate surgical approaches based on patient condition and clinical requirements.
* Perform diagnostic and operative laparoscopic gynecological procedures.
* Undertake dilation and curettage procedures when medically indicated.
* Conduct colposcopy and evaluate cervical abnormalities requiring further investigation or treatment.
* Provide selected fertility-related assessments and interventions within the scope of specialist practice.
* Diagnose and manage common gynecological conditions including menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, reproductive health concerns, and menopausal symptoms.
* Review ultrasound findings, laboratory investigations, pathology reports, and other diagnostic results when developing treatment plans.
* Work closely with midwives, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, radiologists, and other specialists to coordinate maternal and fetal care.
* Explain diagnoses, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, and expected outcomes clearly to patients and families.
* Communicate fluently in Arabic with patients who prefer or require Arabic-language clinical discussions.
* Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative documentation, consent records, treatment plans, and follow-up information.
* Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement programs, morbidity reviews, and clinical governance activities.
* Contribute to continuing medical education, case discussions, departmental learning, and professional development.
* Follow evidence-based clinical protocols, patient safety standards, infection control practices, and applicable UAE healthcare requirements.
Ideal Profile
* MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical qualification from a recognized institution.
* Recognized specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology such as Arab Board, MRCOG, or equivalent.
* Appropriate UAE professional license or eligibility to obtain the required specialist license.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in a hospital, maternity service, or women\'s health clinic.
* Fluent Arabic language skills in both spoken and written communication.
* Strong experience managing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
* Demonstrated surgical competence in cesarean section, hysterectomy, laparoscopy, D and C, and other gynecological procedures.
