Role Context
The Specialist - Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide comprehensive women’s health services within a leading healthcare facility in Dubai. The role covers consultation, diagnosis, pregnancy care, delivery support, gynecologic procedures, surgical management, postnatal follow-up, and patient education. Arabic communication is central to the position, helping patients and families feel informed, comfortable, and supported during sensitive clinical discussions and treatment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed obstetric and gynecologic consultations for patients requiring routine care, high-risk pregnancy support, fertility-related assessment, or surgical evaluation.
* Manage prenatal, natal, and postnatal care with close attention to maternal health, fetal well-being, patient comfort, and evidence-based clinical practice.
* Diagnose and treat common and complex gynecologic conditions using appropriate clinical assessment, imaging, laboratory review, and procedural planning.
* Perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopies, D and C, colposcopy, and fertility-related interventions.
* Monitor pregnancy progression, identify risk factors, arrange follow-up investigations, and coordinate timely escalation for complex cases.
* Collaborate with midwives, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated women’s health care.
* Communicate clearly with Arabic-speaking patients and families to explain diagnosis, care plans, procedure options, risks, recovery expectations, and follow-up needs.
* Maintain accurate patient records, consultation notes, procedure documentation, delivery records, consent forms, and treatment plans.
* Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, hospital standards, patient safety practices, infection control requirements, and UAE healthcare regulations.
* Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity reviews, CME activities, and professional development programs.
* Support patient education on pregnancy care, postnatal recovery, reproductive health, preventive screening, and long-term women’s health management.
* Work with sensitivity, professionalism, and cultural awareness in a multicultural healthcare environment.
Ideal Profile
* Medical degree with recognized specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
* Specialist certification such as Arab Board, MRCOG, or equivalent recognized qualification.
* Fluent Arabic communication skills, both spoken and written.
* Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in a hospital, maternity unit, or women’s health clinic.
* Strong clinical experience across antenatal care, postnatal care, gynecology consultations, and obstetric management.
* Proven surgical and procedural capability in cesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopies, D and C, colposcopy, and related gynecologic interventions.
* Strong diagnostic ability across obstetric and gynecologic conditions.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a culturally sensitive and patient-centered communication style.
* Ability to work effectively with midwives, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary medical teams.
