What Are the Main Duties of a Specialist Psychiatrist?
A Specialist Psychiatrist at Al-Futtaim Health provides mental health diagnoses and treatments in line with global best practices. This role involves individual assessments, counseling, medication management, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal outcomes for patients across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and interpret patient data to reach accurate psychiatric diagnoses
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for conditions such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobias, and behavioral disorders
- Monitor treatment progress and coordinate with clinical teams to adjust care as needed
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions, ensuring a high level of therapeutic engagement
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, documenting symptoms, treatment progress, and clinical outcomes
- Ensure all services comply with Al-Futtaim Health bylaws and medical regulations
What Qualifications and Skills Are Required for This Role?
Education:
- Doctorate of Medicine from an accredited institution
- Completion of a recognized psychiatric specialty qualification approved by the DHA, HAAD, or MOH UAE
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of post-specialization experience in psychiatry
- Proven experience handling a wide range of psychiatric conditions across diverse patient groups
Skills:
- Certification in Basic and Advanced Life Support
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills
- High computer literacy
- Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals will be a plus
