This role supports daily commercial performance while maintaining the service, hygiene, presentation, and guest experience standards expected within an international hotel.
Role Context
Working under the Restaurant Manager, the Assistant Bar Manager coordinates daily bar operations and assumes full operational responsibility during the manager\'s absence. The position influences revenue, beverage costs, employee performance, stock availability, and guest satisfaction across the outlet.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to annual outlet budgets, revenue forecasts, expense
* Prepare employee schedules according to business forecasts, staffing guidelines, and expected service demand.
* Supervise bar employees and maintain professional conduct, grooming, courtesy, and guest engagement standards.
* Recommend recruitment, promotion, training, and performance actions to the Restaurant Manager.
* Inspect the bar, restaurant areas, refrigerators, and storage facilities before opening.
* Confirm completion of closing procedures and compliance with approved operational checklists.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in line with health regulations and hotel requirements.
* Coordinate beverage purchasing, pricing, promotions, and product selection with the Restaurant Manager.
* Prepare requisitions for beverages, condiments, operating materials, and guest supplies according to established par levels.
* Monitor consumption records and share accurate purchasing data with the Head Bartender.
* Control beverage handling, storage, expiry dates, wastage, spoilage, and breakages.
* Track beverage cost of sale and support measures that protect outlet profitability.
The Assistant Bar Manager will help develop new drinks, cocktails, snacks, and presentation concepts that strengthen the outlet\'s commercial appeal. All recipes and product specifications must remain consistent with approved service and quality standards.
* Identify employee training needs and arrange practical development programs with the Restaurant Manager.
* Conduct induction and operational training for newly appointed bar and service employees.
* Ensure entrance procedures, dress codes, sound levels, lighting, and operating hours comply with established policies.
* Advise the Restaurant Manager on service quality, employee deployment, guest concerns, and operational improvements.
* Report equipment faults and coordinate repair requests with the Maintenance Department.
* Maintain productive communication with purchasing, kitchen, maintenance, front office, and other hotel departments.
* Take charge of bar operations whenever the Restaurant Manager is absent.
* Support the Duty Manager and senior leadership with reasonable operational assignments.
Ideal Profile
The successful candidate should hold a diploma or degree in vocational hospitality and bring 5-7 years of experience from a 4-5 star hotel. Previous responsibility for bar supervision, beverage inventory, employee scheduling, cost control, and luxury guest service is essential.
This position suits a composed and commercially aware leader who can make sound decisions during busy service periods. Strong attention to cleanliness, presentation, employee discipline, stock accuracy, and guest satisfaction will be important.
