Role Context
The Boiler Operator protects the continuity of hotel services by maintaining stable boiler output and responding quickly to abnormal
Key Responsibilities
The role combines plant operation, technical testing, preventive maintenance and emergency preparedness within the hotel Engineering department.
* Operate boiler systems that supply and regulate steam or heat for hotel facilities.
* Monitor gauges, controls and operating indicators throughout each shift.
* Adjust equipment settings to maintain the required heat and steam output.
* Inspect boiler components and associated systems for signs of abnormal performance.
* Collect samples from designated boiler-system locations.
* Transport samples safely to the appropriate testing area or laboratory.
* Test samples using approved devices and established procedures.
* Record test results accurately on the required operational documents.
* Report abnormal findings and equipment concerns to engineering management.
* Diagnose boiler malfunctions through systematic monitoring and technical analysis.
* Complete preventive maintenance activities according to approved schedules.
* Troubleshoot operational issues and carry out authorized corrective actions.
* Recommend practical improvements to equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
* Follow health, safety and environmental requirements during all plant activities.
* Use protective equipment and safe working methods around heat, steam and chemical hazards.
* Maintain readiness to respond to hotel emergencies.
* Follow fire, evacuation and Engineering department emergency procedures.
* Maintain current knowledge of the Operational Standards Manual.
* Keep plant records, inspection results and maintenance documentation organized.
* Support knowledge transfer and practical development of team members.
* Participate in scheduled training and preventive maintenance work.
* Cooperate with other hotel departments during service requirements and technical interruptions.
* Maintain professional grooming, punctuality and conduct.
* Analyze recurring operational problems and recommend structured action plans.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should have one to two years of experience operating and maintaining boiler systems in a 5-star hotel or comparable hospitality environment. Knowledge of steam and heat regulation, gauge monitoring, equipment testing and safety compliance is required.
Formal certification in boiler operation or plant engineering is preferred. Experience with preventive maintenance, pneumatic systems, emergency response and operational documentation will be advantageous. The successful applicant will demonstrate careful analysis, reliable teamwork and accurate recordkeeping.
