Job Overview
As Cargo Security Manager, you will oversee the development and implementation of cargo security compliance strategies, risk assessments, and quality control programs. You will serve as the main liaison with regulatory bodies and government stakeholders while leading internal audits, security training, and process evaluations. This role is essential to ensuring the protection of cargo, personnel, and infrastructure within one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and maintain a cargo security compliance strategy aligned with QCAA, AOSP, and international regulations
* Manage risk assessments, investigations, audits, and inspections across the Cargo campus
* Maintain approvals and validations, including QAS Cargo Security Program and RA3 (EU/UK) compliance
* Lead security performance initiatives, define SPI metrics, and provide monthly reviews to senior management
* Cultivate relationships with MOI, Customs, HIA, other airlines, and internal departments to ensure cross-functional alignment
* Deliver awareness campaigns and events that promote a strong security culture among staff
* Evaluate and update policies, training programs, and access controls to meet current threats and trends
* Supervise internal investigations and support HR with fair, factual reporting
* Ensure background checks and security clearance compliance for all authorized personnel
* Control access to facilities, monitor security systems, and prevent unauthorized activity
* Represent QAS Cargo at external security meetings and industry forums
* Coach and mentor team members, including national trainees, in alignment with talent development strategies
* Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resource planning to ensure operational readiness
Ideal Profile
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 6 years of experience in aviation security or cargo compliance
* In-depth knowledge of European, UK, and US cargo security regulations
* Experience managing aviation security teams in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
* Proven ability to conduct thorough investigations and report findings clearly
* Skilled in delivering high-impact presentations and promoting compliance programs
* Familiar with access control systems, quality assurance, and training content development
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant audit/reporting tools
* Strong leadership, cross-cultural communication, and stakeholder management skills
