Role Context
The Chef de Partie takes operational ownership of an assigned kitchen station and ensures that every item reaches guests with the
Key Responsibilities
Daily work covers station preparation, production control, buffet presentation and communication between kitchen shifts.
* Prepare and maintain an accurate inventory list for the assigned station.
* Organize ingredients, tools and equipment before production and service periods.
* Follow approved recipes, portion standards and plating guides.
* Provide support at another kitchen station when operational coverage is required.
* Prepare daily market lists and submit ingredient requirements to the Executive Sous Chef.
* Inspect received products to verify their quality, quantity and suitability.
* Prepare recipes and food-costing information when requested by culinary management.
* Recommend food promotions, themed events and menu-related activities.
* Coordinate with Outlet Supervisors and explain food items prepared for service.
* Monitor food usage and reduce wastage without compromising quality.
* Recommend practical improvements to kitchen systems, procedures and service flow.
* Maintain operational records, control documents and station logbooks.
* Attend outlet briefings and communicate relevant production or service updates.
* Inspect buffet quantity, quality and food labels before guests arrive.
* Monitor buffet presentation and arrange timely replenishment during service.
* Explain dishes and recommend food specialities or promotions to guests when required.
* Check every completed dish for taste, temperature, appearance and presentation.
* Maintain a calm and organized working atmosphere within the culinary team.
* Verify that kitchen equipment is clean, operational and safely positioned after each shift.
* Remove hazards and leave the station ready for the incoming team.
* Provide a complete handover covering pending tasks, stock levels and operational concerns.
* Share culinary knowledge and practical skills with junior team members.
* Apply HACCP requirements and hotel food-safety procedures throughout production.
* Maintain punctuality, professional grooming and compliance with hotel regulations.
* Support colleagues and assist in other hotel areas according to business requirements.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in vocational hospitality and have one to two years of culinary experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel. A practical understanding of food production standards, station organization and buffet operations is required.
The preferred applicant will demonstrate full knowledge of HACCP requirements, accurate recipe execution and effective communication with culinary and service teams. Flexibility, discipline and the ability to maintain quality during demanding service periods are essential.
