Commis Chef

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of food presentation as per the outlet\'s requirements.
- Follow standard recipes and preparation methods for every menu item in the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all work areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils as per hotel standards.
- Coordinate with colleagues regarding operational needs and issues to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Operate kitchen equipment correctly and safely to maximize efficiency and personal safety.
- Assist in implementing food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP and Municipality regulations.
- Participate in regular meetings and briefings to stay informed about updates in the Food and Beverage function.
- Respond to changes in Food and Beverage operations as dictated by industry trends or hotel policy.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and inventory control for efficient kitchen operations.
- Assist in food preparation tasks under the guidance of senior chefs, ensuring consistent quality and taste.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
- Professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef\'s training course is preferred.
- Previous experience in quality establishments or luxury hotels is an advantage.
- Strong culinary skills with proven knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and preservation techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
