Position Overview
The Financial Controller at Grand Mercure Dubai City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates will lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control and compliance across the hotel\'s operations. Working closely with senior management and department heads, the role provides financial analysis and commercial insight to support informed decision-making while maintaining robust internal controls and accurate reporting across rooms, Food and Beverage, spa, events and other operating areas.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, departmental profit and
loss accounts, and monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
* Maintain accurate reporting across rooms, Food and Beverage, spa, events and other hotel operations in accordance with applicable UAE accounting requirements.
* Manage budgeting and financial forecasting processes in alignment with hotel operations and business objectives.
* Prepare and assess revenue projections using relevant hotel performance measures, including occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.
* Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial performance across revenue and cost centres.
* Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved operational efficiency.
* Maintain compliance with applicable UAE tax regulations, VAT requirements, auditing standards, relevant labour provisions and hotel financial policies.
* Provide senior management and department heads with financial analysis and recommendations informed by operating performance, industry trends and competitive benchmarking.
* Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls throughout the hotel.
* Supervise, guide and develop the Finance team while encouraging accountability and consistent compliance with financial procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
* Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CMA is an advantage.
* Minimum 5-7 years of previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior Finance management role within a hotel is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial or accounting systems, including experience with hotel finance systems.
* Good understanding of UAE financial regulations, VAT, tax requirements and accounting standards.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with the capacity to interpret financial information and turn it into practical business insights.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with senior management and departmental leaders.
* Strong leadership and team-management capabilities with the ability to develop and motivate Finance colleagues.
* High standards of integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail, with a strong commitment to financial controls and compliance.
