Role Context
The Hostess plays an important front-of-house role by shaping the guest experience from the moment visitors arrive at the restaurant. Beyond greeting and seating guests, the position requires awareness of restaurant flow, waiting times, table availability, and individual guest expectations.
Working within a luxury dining environment demands warmth, confidence, discretion, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
* Welcome guests promptly and professionally upon arrival at the restaurant.
* Create a warm first impression through attentive, confident, and personalized communication.
* Manage guest arrivals and maintain an organized waiting list during busy service periods.
* Provide realistic waiting-time information and keep guests informed when tables are being prepared.
* Escort guests to assigned tables and ensure the seating experience is smooth and welcoming.
* Coordinate table availability with the restaurant service team to support efficient guest flow.
* Maintain awareness of reservations, expected arrivals, special requests, and restaurant occupancy.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues when seating priorities or guest requirements change.
* Recognize opportunities to personalize interactions and enhance the overall dining experience.
* Respond courteously to guest questions and provide appropriate restaurant information.
* Assist with special occasions, VIP arrivals, and specific seating requirements when applicable.
* Handle guest concerns calmly and involve the appropriate restaurant leader when further assistance is required.
* Maintain a polished and professional presence throughout each service period.
* Support front-of-house organization during peak dining hours.
* Work collaboratively with servers, supervisors, managers, and other food and beverage colleagues.
* Help maintain efficient communication between the reception area and restaurant floor.
* Ensure guest-facing areas remain organized and ready for arrivals.
* Adapt quickly to changes in reservations, table availability, and operational priorities.
