Key Responsibilities
Daily assignments involve physical cleaning, room replenishment, equipment checks and cooperation with other hotel employees.
* Collect cleaning products, linen and guest supplies from designated storerooms.
* Prepare and organize the housekeeping trolley before beginning daily assignments.
* Keep carts, shelves and storage areas clean and orderly.
* Clean windows, doors, walls, wardrobes, fixtures, corridors and public areas.
* Use approved ladders or stools safely when cleaning elevated surfaces.
* Wash shower walls, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors and exposed bathroom fixtures.
* Replace used towels, soaps and guest-room amenities.
* Replenish hotel literature and remove damaged or soiled materials.
* Clean hard floors thoroughly using approved products and equipment.
* Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, wall decorations, vents and ceiling corners.
* Remove used bed linen and remake beds with fresh sheets.
* Inspect blankets, mattress protectors and bed coverings for stains or damage.
* Check beneath beds and between mattresses for dirt or misplaced items.
* Clean wardrobes, doors, handles and shelves.
* Replenish hangers, pillows, blankets and other approved room supplies.
* Vacuum guest rooms, hallways and public spaces, including areas beneath furniture.
* Move furniture safely when required to complete detailed cleaning.
* Inspect door and window locks for correct operation.
* Report unsecured rooms and safety concerns immediately to management.
* Test televisions, lighting, faucets and other guest-room equipment.
* Document room defects and report them to the Executive Housekeeper for repair.
* Clean balconies and patios, including floors, doors, windows and outdoor furniture.
* Remove rubbish and dispose of waste according to hotel procedures.
* Protect keys, cleaning equipment and supplies throughout the shift.
* Maintain a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
* Assist other employees and departments when operational support is required.
* Complete additional housekeeping duties assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification. Previous housekeeping experience is beneficial but not essential, making this opportunity suitable for dependable applicants who can learn hotel cleaning standards and follow detailed instructions.
The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends and changing schedules. Applicants must be punctual, professionally presented and able to communicate through verbal and written instructions. They should also be physically capable of moving a fully loaded housekeeping trolley, lifting equipment, bending, kneeling and working on their feet for extended periods.
