Role Context
The Housekeeping Supervisor protects room readiness, cleanliness and guest comfort through active floor supervision and employee guidance. The role connects Housekeeping with Front Office and
other operational departments so that standard room preparation, maintenance concerns and unusual guest requirements are handled without delays.
Key Responsibilities
The position combines room inspection, workforce supervision, service coordination and continuous employee development.
* Supervise assigned housekeeping areas and daily room-preparation activities.
* Ensure designated guest rooms are cleaned and presented according to Sofitel standards.
* Confirm that room setups reflect recorded guest requests and individual requirements.
* Inspect completed rooms and arrange immediate correction of any quality concerns.
* Ensure housekeeping employees understand hotel procedures and service expectations.
* Maintain team awareness of hotel facilities so employees can assist guests accurately.
* Monitor the safe and correct use of housekeeping tools and equipment.
* Ensure employees use the property management system properly for room-status updates.
* Maintain accurate knowledge of approved room layouts, amenities and setup standards.
* Coordinate room readiness and guest requests closely with Front Office.
* Communicate maintenance concerns and equipment defects to Engineering.
* Work with Food and Beverage, Security and Guest Relations on relevant service requirements.
* Follow up on unusual requests until the responsible department completes the required action.
* Evaluate employee appearance, discipline, productivity and service efficiency.
* Take prompt remedial action when performance or conduct does not meet expectations.
* Set clear performance targets for employees under direct supervision.
* Monitor individual and team productivity throughout the shift.
* Coach housekeeping employees to strengthen practical skills and service quality.
* Support employee learning and career development within the department.
* Maintain professional communication and cooperation across hotel operations.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in vocational hospitality, Room Division or a related discipline. Significant experience in a comparable housekeeping position may also be considered. The required experience ranges from two to five years, depending on educational qualifications and career history.
The preferred applicant will communicate fluently in English and confidently use desktop software, hotel applications and property management systems. Luxury hotel experience, strong floor supervision and careful attention to room presentation will be valuable.
