Position Overview
Jumeirah Group, a global leader in luxury hospitality and part of Dubai Holding, is seeking a Junior Sommelier to join the Shimmers team at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam within the iconic Madinat Jumeirah resort. The successful candidate will play a key role in curating and delivering an exceptional wine experience, ensuring the highest standards of service, product knowledge, and guest satisfaction in one of Dubai’s most renowned beachfront dining destinations.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the restaurant team in providing a world-class wine service aligned with Jumeirah’s luxury standards.
Manage and monitor wine stock levels, storage, and rotation while minimizing wastage and maintaining accurate records.
Support table service by presenting, recommending, and serving wines to guests in coordination with restaurant staff.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of wine cabinets, chillers, and service areas.
Participate in daily pre-shift briefings and communicate updates on wine availability, new arrivals, and stock adjustments.
Engage with guests to provide personalized recommendations based on taste preferences and menu pairings.
Participate in regular tasting sessions, supplier briefings, and wine training to enhance personal knowledge and team expertise.
Assist with inventory checks, reporting stock discrepancies, and ensuring accurate documentation of wine movements.
Collaborate with the restaurant manager and sommelier team to refine and update the wine list according to seasonal offerings and guest preferences.
Ideal Profile
1–2 years of experience as a Junior Sommelier or in a similar role within a luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
Strong background in F&B operations, ideally within a 5-star international property.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of an additional European language is an advantage.
Certified in WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) or equivalent professional wine qualification.
Excellent knowledge of global wine regions, grape varieties, and food pairing principles.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Micros, and SevenRooms software.
Strong communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
Team-oriented, detail-focused, and passionate about continuous learning.
