Kitchen Steward

Start your journey as a Kitchen Steward at Accor in Dubai, where you will play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations during banquet events and daily activities. You will be responsible for dishwashing, polishing silverware, and keeping the work area organized while following safety and hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Check dishwashing machines and ensure that detergents are replenished as needed.
- Send all soiled towels to the laundry and dry them promptly.
- Assist in polishing silver and copperware to maintain a polished and presentable appearance.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and dry at all times, ensuring hygiene and safety.
- Wash dishes as requested by the Steward Supervisor, especially during banquet events.
- Maintain a constant water level and temperature in the dishwashing machine for effective cleaning.
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling machinery, including wearing rubber gloves, an apron, and a hairnet.
- Set up a decoy system before soiled dishes are brought into the kitchen and prepare detergent for soaking cutlery.
- Report damaged, faulty, or misused equipment to the Steward Supervisor for timely maintenance.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:
- Secondary or high school education is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
- Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
- Ability to speak other languages or a basic understanding of local languages is an advantage.
- Service-oriented with an eye for detail and the ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, showing cooperation and collaboration.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Professional appearance and the ability to maintain a clean and neat look at all times.
