The Painter - Hotel Finishing helps protect the visual quality
and maintenance condition of a premium hotel property by preparing surfaces, applying finishes, repairing appearance-related defects, and ensuring work areas are protected before painting begins. In a busy Dubai hotel environment, this position contributes to the guest experience by keeping rooms, public areas, service zones, furniture, and building surfaces clean, polished, and aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply paint, stain, varnish, sealers, primers, and other finishes to hotel walls, ceilings, furniture, fixtures, and assigned property surfaces.
* Use brushes, rollers, spray guns, and approved painting tools to complete finishing work with clean lines and consistent coverage.
* Prepare new surfaces by applying primers or sealers before final finish coats.
* Remove old paint, stain, or finishes through stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, water blasting, or abrasive blasting when required.
* Cover floors, furniture, fixtures, doors, guest areas, and nearby surfaces with suitable protective materials before painting begins.
* Post appropriate paint signs and safety notices to protect guests, associates, and work areas during painting activity.
* Clean up painting areas thoroughly after work is completed so hotel spaces remain safe, tidy, and guest-ready.
* Store paint, stains, varnishes, brushes, rollers, spray tools, ladders, and painting equipment in designated areas after use.
* Coordinate with vendors when paint colors, stain shades, varnish tones, or finishing specifications need to be adjusted.
* Inspect finished surfaces for smoothness, color match, coverage, cleanliness, and overall presentation quality.
* Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, injuries, surface defects, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
* Follow all company policies, safety procedures, security standards, quality expectations, and required training guidelines.
* Complete safety training and certifications related to painting, maintenance, work areas, equipment, and safe handling of materials.
* Maintain clean uniform, professional personal appearance, confidentiality, and responsible care of company property.
* Protect company assets by using materials, tools, paint products, and equipment carefully and efficiently.
* Welcome and acknowledge guests according to hotel standards and respond to guest needs with professionalism.
* Assist individuals with disabilities when appropriate and thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Ideal Profile
* Technical, trade, or vocational school degree in painting, finishing, maintenance, construction trades, or a related field is preferred.
* At least 1 year of related work experience in painting, surface finishing, hotel maintenance, facilities work, or building repair.
* Practical knowledge of paint application, surface preparation, primer use, stain application, varnishing, sanding, stripping, and protective covering.
* Comfortable using brushes, rollers, spray guns, ladders, sanding tools, and other painting equipment safely.
* Good eye for color consistency, clean finishing, detail work, surface quality, and presentation standards.
* Ability to work carefully in guest-facing hotel spaces while protecting furniture, flooring, fixtures, and surrounding areas.
* Understanding of safety procedures, paint storage, tool handling, work area signage, and cleanup requirements.
* Professional guest service attitude with clear communication, teamwork, confidentiality, and respect for hotel standards.
