Key Responsibilities
The position handles sensitive employee information and hotel funds, requiring disciplined verification and reliable documentation at every stage.
* Prepare and process the monthly payroll for hotel employees.
* Verify salaries, overtime payments, deductions, bonuses and other payroll adjustments.
* Maintain complete payroll records and confidential employee financial information.
* Coordinate with the People and Culture team regarding attendance, leave records and final settlements.
* Ensure payroll activities comply with labour requirements and internal hotel policies.
* Receive and verify daily cash collections from hotel outlets.
* Record cash receipts accurately within the relevant financial systems.
* Prepare daily bank deposits and arrange submission within established timelines.
* Maintain the general cashier float and control petty-cash transactions.
* Reconcile cash receipts against Front Office and food and beverage reports.
* Investigate cash variances and report unresolved discrepancies to the appropriate manager.
* Follow internal controls governing payroll, cash handling and financial documentation.
* Safeguard cash, payroll files, transaction records and supporting documents.
* Prepare daily cashier reports, summaries and reconciliation records.
* Assist the Chief Accountant with periodic financial reporting.
* Support internal and external audit requirements by providing accurate documentation.
* Maintain organized records for payroll payments, cash collections and bank deposits.
* Escalate unusual transactions, missing documents and control weaknesses promptly.
Ideal Profile
Candidates should hold a bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and have at least three years of experience in a comparable hospitality position. Practical knowledge of payroll processing, cash handling, account reconciliation and financial controls is required.
Experience with Opera, Sun System, Micros or Paytrax will be advantageous. The preferred applicant will demonstrate integrity, numerical accuracy and the ability to protect confidential information while meeting strict payroll and reporting deadlines.
