Job Description
As a Restaurant Hostess, you will help create a
positive first and lasting impression for guests visiting the restaurant. From welcoming and seating guests to coordinating reservations and supporting billing, the position contributes to smooth restaurant operations and consistent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and create a positive first impression.
- Inform guests of expected waiting times and maintain an accurate waiting list.
- Enter and manage guest information through the relevant computer system.
- Escort guests to their allocated tables and provide a courteous farewell when they leave.
- Inform guests about current promotions and introduce the team member responsible for serving them.
- Support a smooth handover between reception and restaurant service staff.
- Answer incoming restaurant telephone calls and provide appropriate assistance.
- Manage reservation details through the restaurant reservation system.
- Coordinate table allocation according to reservations and operational requirements.
- Record and communicate guest dietary requirements accurately.
- Verify orders and calculate applicable charges for takeaway orders.
- Process payments by validating credit charges, accepting approved payment methods, and handling currency.
- Support accurate billing and other guest-related restaurant transactions.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Hospitality background is preferred.
- Proficiency in Micros.
- Fluency in English.
- Additional language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to remain focused on guest requirements in a busy restaurant environment.
- Calm, courteous, and professional approach to guest interactions.
- Ability to manage reservations, table allocation, dietary information, and billing accurately.
